We received same request from EASA as well

I understand that provisions for PEDs are impacted by Specific Condition ref. SC-G25.1585-01, issue 02, resulting in a Major classification. Consequently, PED provisions approved after January 2022 must be classified as Major.

I feel this is too stringent as applied by EASA. There is nothing in Part-21 that says provisions for PEDs have to be approved as MAJOR (STC). EASA cannot simply make this claim and I think we should object to it. The way this has progressed for the past 10 years or so is that all are doing provisions and then the operator gets an Ops Spec approval from their NAA for the PEDs (iPads mainly). The provisions themselves are always minor and some of them are also considered loose equipment (like the most popular PIVOT mounts). EASA should be approaching the NAAs and getting information from them on what type of PEDs they have been allowing on-board per EASA AMC 20-25A. Going after the DOAs is not warranted for the safety issue they are trying to solve. It is potentially the installation of the PED that will drive a major change but not the provisions.

We have received the letter. In our case, response was simple, we have not done EFB provisioning in flight deck. For this reason we also did not dive deeper into the matter.
